The Giant Tiger Head Office in Ottawa, Canada, is a state-of-the-art, energy efficient office designed to support collaboration, sustainability, and employee well-being. The facility features modern workspaces, open-concept designs, and advanced technology, aligning with the retailer’s commitment to innovation and efficiency. Somfy’s Digital Network (SDN) of motorized shading was installed to control natural light and glare and seamlessly integrated with Trane’s building automation system to enhance control, comfort and performance visibiity. To help support Ontario’s SB-10 Energy Efficiency code requirements, the motorized shades are controlled through local thermostat controls during peak energy usage of the HVAC system. The motorized shades are automatically lowered and local control disabled to assist with keeping the building from overheating.
