Îlot Balmoral

Background

The Îlot Balmoral is an office project designed by Provencher Roy Architecture and features a visually striking high-performance glass façade. The glass-forward building allows daylight deep into workspaces enhancing the well-being of occupants and minimizing energy use. The project achieved LEED NC Gold certification for its sustainability-focused design. The use of automated shading supports its modern aesthetic while also meeting the practical demands of daylight management. Somfy animeo IP/RS485 technology was used to dynamically adjust shading in perimeter spaces in an effort to reduce glare, and solar heat gain while maximizing daylight and views.
