Background

The NYU Langone Health, Helen L. and Martin S. Kimmel Pavilion is a state-of-the-art hospital facility designed by Ennead Architects in collaboration with NBBJ. The LEED Platinum certified pavilion represents a major expansion of NYU Langone's healthcare campus and was envisioned as a model for patient-centered, technologically advanced care. The project emphasized natural light, patient care, and operational efficiency. By utilzing Somfy's Digital Network/RS485 motors to integrate into the building management system the shading automatically adjusts to the right height to reduce glare and heat gain.
