Background

The Southcore Financial Centre project in Toronto is a redevelopment/modernization of a commercial mixed use property designed by KPMB. It is a complex located strategically near Toronto's Union Station and consists of two major towers. The renovation was designed to align with modern workplace trends, sustainability goals, and tenant demand for smarter, more flexible office environments. KPMB introduced design strategies prioritizing well-being, natural light, and collaborative work spaces. The expansive glass facades required a dynamic connected daylight management solution and the installation of Somfy's Digital Network/RS485 technology and motorized shades ensured that the control of glare and solar heat gain was met in a technology-forward solution.
