Background

The Sinclair Hotel is an unique project that transformed a historic 1930's Art Deco office tower into a luxury boutique hotel. The Sinclair Hotel was the first hotel in the world to use Power over Ethernet (PoE) lighting and infrastructure. Smart building technology allows the hotel to keep track of energy-saving information while providing streamlined automation. Somfy's guest room based motorized drapery and shade motors were connected to the PoE network via Somfy's PoE gateways. Guests can enjoy a truly personalized experience and the ability to conveniently control daylight and privacy thanks to smart building technology connected by PoE.
