Background

The Waterfront Innovation Centre project set out to become a cutting edge high performing building with spaces that changed the way employees worked together in the city's growing creative and technology sectors. The Sweeny & Co. designed project features distinct areas that incude leasable work space as well as additional shared spaces for use by both the public and tenants. Achieving LEED Platinum CS, the building is designed to optimize sustainable strategies. Somfy powered shading solutions create flexibility for controlling and monitoring daylight. The motors and controls integrate with lighting and the building management systems for seamless operation. Somfy's animeo IP technology utilizes data collected from a roof top weather station to facilite automated control of shading in amenity spaces. Control switches were installed to faciliate local control by occupants.
