Valiant Home Remodelers Gives Back

As a local residential contractor, Valiant Home Remodelers takes a special interest in the community. This is their home, and they are committed to giving back to those who have given the company so much. 

In 1997, the Valiant family honored Genare’s son by creating the Michael J. Valiant Sr. Foundation. The Foundation has enabled the company to donate more than $300,000 to families affected by Sept. 11 and Hurricane Katrina, as well as to causes including the Carteret Specials and Autism New Jersey. 

Shade on Demand

In Valiant Home Remodelers’ early days of selling aluminum products, shading was basically limited to the use of stationary awnings placed above windows and doors. With the coming of motorization, the range and benefits of shading products expanded greatly.  They recognized how this evolution could serve customers and so they adopted the “Shade on Demand” concept.

Valiant Home Remodelers logically started with retractable awnings.  It was readily obvious that the flexibility retractable awnings offer in terms of ease-of-use and operation would give them a leading place in the market.  With motorization, that ease and speed-of-use expanded to an even larger segment of users.

While the use of retractable awnings is basically a “use or retract” proposition, Valiant Home Remodelers has fostered a newer retractable product technology which, in the right applications, can afford the owner many added features and benefits for their investment – solar screens. 

These screens are capable of enclosing, at the flip of a switch, entire areas of property to capture added living space with control of sun, temperature, comfort, privacy, and unwanted guests (insects).  By regaining the usefulness of those areas, solar screens can make available, what are essentially, retractable outdoor rooms.  When not in use, solar screens can blend back into the building architecture and seemingly disappear.

“Cool” Projects

Beach front properties at the Jersey shore can take a beating from the wind, rain and sea.  Solar screens were installed by Valiant Home Remodelers to help protect parts of this property, as well as make certain areas usable even when the weather is not quite at its best.

Retractable solar screens at this beachfront home deploy on demand to protect areas of the building from potentially damaging winds, rain, sun and sand.

Afternoon western exposure made this brick patio (and many others in this development) unbearably hot and overly bright during a large portion of the year. This was especially true due to the ceiling, which does not allow heat to escape.

The installation of motorized solar screens allowed the recapture of this useful space by providing, at the flip of a switch, blocking of the sun’s heat and reduction of glare. It also allowed the use of inside air conditioning to cool the area and, at the same time, exclusion of insects and other pests.
