Motorized Shades Complete Beach Bungalow Upgrade

As a California native, Maile Misajon has become a Nashville, Tennessee transplant, but she still misses the ocean. A singer and songwriter who was previously in the 2000’s girl band Eden’s Crush, Maile now spends her time blogging about motherhood when she’s not singing. 

She was excited to find the perfect beach bungalow for her family in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida but the home needed some upgrades to achieve the beachy, calming vibe she wanted. Aiming for a lighter and brighter feel for her family’s new beach oasis, motorized shades were the perfect way for her to bring in that natural light.

Smart shades powered by Somfy helped Maile bring more natural light to this newly brightened space. She focused on easy upgrades to give the space a dramatic facelift. New paint, new furniture, and new shades helped Maile achieve the gorgeous California beach vibe she was looking for in her living room. 

“The result is timeless, classic and modern and airy which is exactly what I was hoping for in this space,” Maile wrote on her blog. 

When updating a room, it’s easy to overlook your window coverings, but as Maile discovered they can make a huge impact on your space. She opted for a light, airy fabric that perfectly blended into the room while also letting light filter through. 

Motorized shades also provide a touch of luxury to this home-away-from-home. Maile and her family are looking forward to spending time at the beach bungalow relaxing and unwinding, and that’s even easier now that she can open or close the shades with the touch of a button. In the morning she can drink her coffee and enjoy the natural light without walking around the living room adjusting shade positioning. Talk about vacation vibes!
