The Somfy Connect expands Somfy’s robust line of interfaces and provides a solution to operate Somfy RTS and Somfy Digital NetworkTM (SDN) motorized applications.

DENVER (September 9, 2013) – Somfy Systems, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of radio- controlled motors (Radio Technology Somfy® – RTS) for interior and exterior window coverings announces the launch of Somfy Connect. The Somfy Connect expands Somfy’s robust line of interfaces and provides a solution to operate Somfy RTS and Somfy Digital NetworkTM (SDN) motorized applications with RadioRA® 2, HomeWorks® QS, Grafik Eye® QS, and Quantum® control systems.

The addition of these integration protocols to Somfy’s extensive range of compatible interfaces, including Z-Wave®, ZigBee®, WiFi, IR and serial protocols allows RTS motors to communicate with virtually any system. This provides easy integration into many of the leading home automation systems and smart home hubs on the market offering users the benefits of Somfy-powered products no matter which solution they have. The Somfy Connect will be on display in booth #1176 at CEDIA EXPO 2014 in Denver, CO September 10-13.

With Somfy Connect, users can control RTS and SDN motorized products from Lutron keypads, hand-held remotes, table top remotes, even Lutron’s mobile apps, or add new Somfy products to existing Lutron systems. The Somfy Connect provides additional features and can store up to 300 communication maps as well as 99 sunrise events and 99 sunset events to maximize the operation options for users. It also features a real time hardware clock for scheduling shading events without the need for accessing an external time server. This ensures continuous and reliable operation even in the event of power loss.

“Somfy Systems is the largest manufacturer of motorized window coverings for both the residential and commercial markets with over 110 million motors produced in the last 30 years,” said Tom Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of Somfy North America. “With the home automation and connected device industries rapidly expanding, we see the need to provide our millions of users the ability to seamlessly integrate their favorite Somfy solutions with the leading systems on the market today.
