Somfy is proud to announce the Sonesse® 30 WireFree™ Zigbee motor is award-winning, taking home a 2020 Design Award from the Connected Design Awards. This motor will be widely available in early 2021 and features bi-directional Zigbee 3.0 technology, making it the perfect solution for the automation of interior window coverings.

The Sonesse 30 WireFree Zigbee features battery-embedded rechargeable technology, making it easy to install, commission and operate. It’s also compatible with all Zigbee 3.0 certified products to create a more connected home environment. Bi-directional feedback means it’s possible to achieve real-time knowledge of shade status and battery level from anywhere. Somfy’s latest motor technology also includes the Set & Go Connect™ app, a free intuitive mobile app that takes installers and manufacturers through easy step-by-step programming instructions for motorized shades. 

Like all Somfy products, these new motors can be controlled via app, voice control, or traditional hand-held remotes or wall switches for the ultimate in flexibility. Somfy solutions work with most third-party integration systems including Control4, Crestron, Savant, Elan, URC, RTI, BMS, and more. Somfy’s open ecosystem also makes it simple to incorporate motorized shading in both commercial and residential projects. Like all Somfy solutions, Sonesse 30 WireFree Zigbee motors can be utilized by fabricators working with a wide variety of fabrics for projects of all sizes and matching any decor. 

Somfy is honored to win a Connected Design award for its smart shading solution. The Connected Design Awards were created to recognize the best-designed technology and products that the smart home industry has to offer. Winning products were judged and graded by a panel of experts in the smart home industry who evaluated each product based on criteria such as design aesthetics, technological innovation, and ease of application and implementation.
