Multi-location Redesign​

Management of multiple sites is now easier than ever with a user-friendly interface and enhanced multi-user access. Easily toggle between your locations using the arrow on the top left of the app to select the location you would like.

Users can continue to manage multiple locations from a single email address.

Practical Example

A couple with a primary residence and a secondary home (i.e. a beach house), can now easily connect two TaHoma switch hubs (one at each location) under a single account.

Multi-location Feature scenarios

I have one installation in one location and I want to add a second:

  • I use the same email afddress
  • I add the new installation through the settings ('...') menu
  • I am then able to toggle between both

I have one installation and I am invited to another one as a resident or guest:

  • I use the same email address
  • I will be part of of the multi-user setup of the other installation
  • I am then able to toggle between them both

I have a showroom and one installation for my home, I want my employees to have access to the showroom:

  • I use the same email address for both locations
  • I will invite my employees as a resident to the showroom location
  • I am then able to toggle between them both

Settings Menu ('...') Redesign

The settings menu of the TaHoma by Somfy app was redesigned to accommodate the new user management feature as well as editing installations options.

You may now:

  • Configure your installation
  • Manage all of your users and their permissions
  • Access your full list of devices
  • View the full list of actions executed by the TaHoma

Philips Hue Bridge now compatible with TaHoma

Tahoma is now fully compatible with the Philips Hue Bridge. This integration allows you to seamlessly control and automate Philips Hue lighting alongside your Somfy connected devices, enhancing the smart home experience.

Accessibility Improvements

The team has updated the app’s visual design to better align with accessibility standards. As the first step in this effort, primary action buttons have been updated to blue across both iOS and Android platforms, improving visibility and usability for a wider range of users. Zigbee TDBU for Synergy API

Since October 14th, Zigbee TDBU has been compatible with the Synergy API.

With additional development on the partner side, this integration opens the door to control your TDBU using leading automation platforms such as Crestron, Control4, Elan, and more (a TaHoma switch or TaHoma Beecon is necessary).

This enhancement marks another step forward in delivering flexible, connected shading experiences across multiple ecosystems.

Apple Watch Tutorial

A new in-app tutorial is now available to guide users on how to access their TaHoma scenes and products using an Apple Watch via Shortcuts.

This quick walkthrough makes it easier than ever to control your smart shading experience right from your wrist!

New Log-in Process

You may notice a small change: We’ve introduced a faster and simpler login process to make accessing your account smoother than ever.​

Temporary multi-location management limitations​

For a few months, some features linked to site management will no longer be available:​

  • Addition of a second installation in the app
  • Name change of existing installations ​
  • Deletion of one of your installations

If you are already using this feature and have 2 or more installations linked to a single app, no worries, you can still switch from one installation to the other without a problem and control your homes as usual.​

Precisely position your Zigbee shade's 'my' settings

You now have more control over your shades than ever before in the app, allowing you to set your 'my' position exactly to within fractions of a percent.

This allows for precise and easy control over tall windows, perfect alignment of multiple blinds and screens, and accurate stripe alignment on Zebra blinds.

Expanded Connectivity Options via Bluetooth for Zigbee motors

Enjoy more options to control your shades and reset their positions and settings via Bluetooth (BLE). Reset your 'my' position, end limits, rotation direction (Glydea motors only) and movemement speed (Glydea motors only) with Bluetooth for a faster, more secure response.

New OTA Architecture

The new OTA file server enables swift and secure firmware updates, with motors automatically checking for updates during initial pairing and periodically thereafter. Designed for scalability and robustness, the system supports up to four simultaneous updates, minimizes user disruption, and ensures reliable performance even during potential disruptions.

Credentials Saved in Keypass

The TaHoma ID and passwords can now be stored in your phone's keypass so you may enjoy faster and more convenient logins! Users will receive an in-app notification to invite them to activate the Keypass feature.

Push notifications for low device battery

Push notifications are now sent when:

  • Your device has a low battery
  • Your device has a critical level of battery

Notifications for low battery levels are sent for the following devices:

  • Motors
  • Sensors
  • Remote controls (in addition to an in-app notification as they do not have a control card with the battery level)

Apple Home certification with Somfy Zigbee ecosystem

TaHoma switch is now Apple Home certified!

Through the control of TaHoma switch, the new certification with Apple Home provides an easy, secure way to control Somfy powered motorized window coverings using Zigbee motors via the Apple Home app and Siri on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod, or Mac.

Somfy Zigbee motors and plugs have been added to the list of devices compatible with Apple Home via TaHoma.

Note: RTS products will not be accessible via Apple Home.

Transparency for RTS devices

Now that homeowners can control both RTS and Zigbee devices through the TaHoma by Somfy app, a notice regarding the control/motor feedback is now displayed when the user first controls an RTS product. The message is also visible within the ‘Info’ menu.

Battery status of Ysia remotes

You can now check the battery level percentage for individual remotes within the TaHoma by Somfy app.

Remote service report

After an installer completes a remote service request for a client’s TaHoma switch, a report is made available containing a summary of actions that were taken. This information can be found within the “My installer” menu.

All service reports performed by the current installer are listed; the user can open and download the PDF file.*

*The setup/commissioning report is not included.

Resale / Move out feature

This feature allows users to reset their TaHoma switch from the TaHoma app. When a homeowner is moving out of their home, they have the option to reset their TaHoma hub for the new occupant.

Personal data, rooms, and favorites will be deleted, and the user’s account will be detached from the hub. The user can choose whether they want to leave the devices paired.
