Where should I plug in the myLink and how close does it need to be to my motorized solution?
Before you get started with app control for your motorized products, you first need to find the right location for your myLink device.
Where should I plug in the myLink interface?
The best practice is to plug in your myLink device as close as possible to the Somfy-powered RTS product. The range of the myLink device will vary from location to location depending on a variety of factors. Therefore getting the myLink device as close as possible to the motorized shades in your bedroom or the motorized screens on your porch can improve performance.
The myLink is a 16-channel zone controller, so you might only need one device per room. For instance, one myLink in an upstairs bedroom to control the draperies, and one myLink in a downstairs kitchen to control all the shades.
However, in areas with a lot of Radio Frequency (RF) interference, or in larger spaces with many motorized products, more myLinks may be required. Keep in mind that it’s more important to have your myLink closer to your Somfy-powered product than to the WiFi router.
Once you’ve found a smart location for your myLink device, you can get started setting up the myLink and enjoying app and voice control for your motorized products!
